Developed by self-defense expert Sapir Tal in Israel, the Spikey resembles at first a set of ordinary "brass" knuckles constructed of a tough plastic/fiberglass composite, but the secret of the device lies in the four "spikes" that give the weapon its name. With simple manipulations of these plastic "spikes" by the user (which are rounded, so as to not puncture skin), even an individual lacking any self-defense training may overpower his or her assailant.
The ultra-light, ultra-simple little tool utilizes natural human pressure points to cause discomfort, such that an individual being threatened has the ability to disarm and cause pain sufficient to make even a large assailant desist an attack. Virtually any type of attack can be stopped with the spikey, including, in extreme conditions, one with an edge weapon or firearm. Using hitting, pinching, pressing/poking, and "scraping" motions described fully in the included DVD, the owner can utilize the spikey to cause an assailant to drop to the ground, lose his weapon, let go of clothing or the body, or even follow the user in any direction he or she deems necessary.

Sifu Sapir Tal:

"Sifu" Sapir Tal has a background in Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu. He is an 'Enter the gate' student of Grandmaster Henry Poo Yee head of Chinese Kung-Fu Academy (CKFA). In 1997 Sifu Sapir opened his Kung Fu school in Israel and has been Head of the Southern Praying Mantis CKFA in Israel for 11 years.
Sifu was a security consultant while studying and teaching under the Grandmaster. Sifu has brought this high impact intensity to his students and to law enforcement training. He has developed Spikey tool and techniques and different programs for: Police, special units, correction officers, military, women and martial artists.

Sifu Oscar Lopes:

Oscar Lopes is a Senior Instructor (Punong Taga Pagturo). This certification has been given to him once he has attained a technical rank of Black Belt 3rd Degree (Lakan/Dayang Tatlo) or above in the American Modern Arnis Associates. Candidates for this certification level must be widely recognized in the AMAA for their dedication to excellence and contributions to the growth and development of American Modern Arnis.

Eyal Goldstein:

Eyal Goldstein, Dhan II rank in Aikijujitsu, is a martial arts and antiterrorism specialist. Has been in and has been training IDF special units. He is also a Personal Bodyguard instructor.

Rani Sheleg:

Rani Sheleg, has trained organizations such as the Israeli police, security officers of the Israel Railways, internal affair office and Italian paratroopers. Rani also trained European police officers in Krav Maga, intervention, Guerilla, light weapons and entry. He has experience as an instructor in the IDF's Anti-terror school.
Rani trains in Kiyodu, Kobudo, Mui Thai, Judo and Krav Maga.

Shani Liron:

Shani Liron, 29. Dan 1, Black belt in Karate-Do, Shotokan.Self defense instructor for men and women in the IDF.B.e.d in Physical Education and movement, specializing in posture.Spikey self defense instructor.Instructor specialties: Gym, aerobic-kickboxing, body development and ergonomic adviser.

Ryusuke Tsuchie:

Ryusuke Tsuchie

Experience -Among 9 years of Japanese military Service, 5 years are in SOF units. Speciality areas are CQB tactics, maritime & inland security,

Threat assessment, VIP close protection & marksmanship.

Ryu has 17 years of experience in martial arts. Ryu has multiple black belts in Aikido, Karate, Nihon-Kenpo, Judo and Russian Systema in which he also serves as the non-civilian training coordinator in Japan.
